2. Visiting the website and hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH in Germany. Accessing pages and files involves processing connection data needed to provide the service. This may include your IP address, access time, requested page or file, volume of data transferred, response status, browser and operating system information, and the previous page you visited, where your browser supplies it.

This processing serves to deliver the website, maintain stability, investigate errors and prevent abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this information service. STRATO receives the data required for this purpose as the hosting provider.

STRATO states that IP addresses or hostnames are anonymised in the access logs made available to hosting customers. Technical data is retained only for as long as needed for operations, troubleshooting or security checks, subject to the hosting service's applicable technical and contractual retention rules. Where there is a specific security incident, relevant data may need to be preserved until the matter has been resolved.

Further information: STRATO's privacy notice.

3. Cookies, analytics and embedded content

The pages we provide do not use analytics or marketing services, tracking pixels or embedded social media content. The page code does not set cookies or store information in your browser's local storage. Images and styles are delivered through this website; external font services are not embedded.

4. Contact by email

The “Contact by email” link opens your email application. Only when you send a message do you transmit the information it contains, particularly your email address, your name if provided, and the message content. This data is used to handle and respond to your enquiry.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract or steps prior to entering a contract. For other enquiries, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is responding to incoming enquiries. The me.com contact mailbox uses Apple's email service. The email service provider also processes the data required for delivery and storage. See Apple's privacy policy for information, including the international processing and safeguards described there.

Correspondence is deleted once the enquiry has been fully handled and retention is no longer required for contract performance, legal obligations, or establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. Providing personal data is voluntary; however, an enquiry cannot be answered without a way to contact you.

5. Free EPUB downloads

The e-book “Das verstummte Säugetier” and the sample of “Sales in Zeiten von AI” can be downloaded without registration or providing an email address. There is no newsletter subscription and no personal download analytics in the page code. Downloading the file involves the technical processing described in section 2.

6. Links to Amazon and LinkedIn

This website contains ordinary links to Amazon and LinkedIn. Simply displaying these links does not cause our page code to load content from these providers. Clicking a link takes you away from this website to the relevant service, where that provider's privacy notice applies. Book purchases and payments take place on Amazon; this website does not operate its own ordering or payment process.

7. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability under Articles 15–20 GDPR. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

Right to object: Where data is processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation under Article 21 GDPR. Please contact the email address above.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in your place of residence or work, or where the alleged infringement occurred. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA) is responsible for private-sector providers in Bavaria.

8. Automated decisions and changes

This website does not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. This notice will be updated if the website's functions or services change.
